SID

Hi my name is Sid, and I’m a member of the 2021 - 2022, 9013 Matrix FTC robotics team. I am 12 years old, in 7th grade at Edgewood Jr/Sr High School. I’m currently taking Algebra 1 Honors, and Accelerated Science. I have had a passion for STEAM, for my entire life, and have been in numerous after school activities and summer camps, dedicated to it. I initially joined to learn how to program, and write software. I have had some prior experience with Python but wanted to expand it while joining the club. Outside of robotics, I play basketball, and tennis. I am also in science

ARYAN

Hello, my name is Aryan, and I am part of the 2021-2022 Merritt Island Matrix FTC Robotics team. I am 13 years old and in 8th grade at Edgewood Jr/Sr High School. I joined the team last year in order to expand my knowledge of mechanical engineering and robotics. Before joining the team, I participated in one season of FLL, City Shaper. Since joining the team, I have greatly expanded my problem solving ability when it comes to mechanical engineering. I also have learned a great deal more about programming during this season. I mainly helped with problem-solving on both the mechanical side and the programming side. Outside of robotics, I play tennis and basketball, and I also enjoy doing math and playing video games. In the future, I plan to join the FRC team if possible. Beyond that, I am not entirely sure about my future. I will most likely go into the engineering field, although I could see myself becoming a doctor or lawyer.

ASHWIN

My name is Ashwin, and I’m 14 years old. I’m a 9th grader at Edgewood Jr/Sr High School, and a member of the 2021-2022 9013 Merritt Island Matrix FTC Robotics team. I’ve worked on the gatherer, and have fine tuned our software. I’m interested in the fields of Science and Math. I have been interested in programming since I was six. My first experience was when my grade had a “submarine race,” where we built and programmed a bot out of pvc and 3 motors.  Outside of robotics, I like to read, play tennis, and play various instruments.I’ve played tennis since I was 6, and was in my old school’s club. I ‘ve played the flute from 5th-8th grade, and the alto-saxophone and the trumpet in 6th and 7th grade. I would like a career in CS or in the medical industry. I am interested in becoming a software engineer or a Pharmacist.

ASHRITHA

My Name is Ashritha. I am 12 years old and a seventh grader at Edgewood Jr/Sr High School. I am a member of team 9012 Merritt Island Matric FTC Robotics. I’m interested in math and science. I became interested in robotics through coding classes that I took when I was younger. I hope robotics will help me get better at programming.  My hobbies include reading, writing, swimming and playing piano. I would like to work as an Epidemiologist or as an environmentalist specialist in the

AKHIL

My name is Akhil , and I’m 12 years old. I’m a 7th grader at Edgewood Jr/Sr High School. I’m a member of the 2021-2022 9013 Matrix FTC Team. I am on the hardware team, I’m interested in the fields of math and science, and am taking Algebra 1 honors, and Accelerated Science at school. I have been a member of many Jr FLL and FLL teams right from the age of 7, and this got me interested in joining FTC. I also like to bike outside and play sports. I hope robotics will teach me how to code, which I am interested in. Outside of robotics, I enjoy reading, playing basketball, and swimming. I’ve been swimming since the age of 6, And I used to live in Iowa.

CHASE

Hello, I am Chase. I am 12 years old and I have played hockey since I was 5. Since I have started first grade I have participated in science fairs and have placed anywhere from 1st-3rd every year. I have also placed 1st in the last two years for the county science fair. I also play the drums and am in the percussion band in school. I love to draw cartoons and any game characters I like. I am also the driver for team Matrix as well as an engineer. During my free time I am either building with legos or hanging outside by the horse farm I live on. When I become an adult I want to become a mechanical engineer And i would also love to be a NHL player. The reason that I wanted to join FTC was because I wanted to learn more about robotics and how it works and get to compete on a team in this kinda game play. I also wanted to do a project where it would be hands-on the entire time and took teamwork.

Antonio.PNG
ANTONIO

My name is Antonio and I am 13 years old. I am an 8th grader at Edgewood Jr/Sr High school and on the mechanical and electrical teams. This is my second year on the 9013 Matrix robotics team. Outside of robotics I like to spend time with my family and read. I have done baseball for 4 years until eventually I began martial arts for 2 years, and about a year ago I started playing the piano. I haven't decided my future yet but I do believe that when I grow up I will be a Software Engineer or possibly even a rocket scientist since that truly is one of the biggest inspirations when it comes to me figuring out what I want to do, and how I will do it. My first major experience when it came to robotics however actually was back in the 3rd grade when I was a mechanical member of the school Odyssey of the Mind team where we had to make our own small robot that needed to perform a few different tasks, similar to how we do things now, but also very different.

COLTON

My name is Colton. I am 14 years old and in 9th grade at Edgewood Jr/Sr high. I joined team 9013 Matrix because I was interested in programming, and robotics. I have learnt how to use github, more about programming in Java, and I learnt about a lot of parts on the robot. I mainly do programming and am usually the manipulator while driving. In my free time I play video games, such as Monster Hunter, Genshin Impact, and Terraria, take piano lessons, and read mostly fantasy books, such as the Percy Jackson series.

I am on the software and hardware teams, and am currently the drive coach for my team. I’m interested in the fields of math and science, and am taking Algebra 2 honors, and Biology at school. I have been a member of many Jr FLL and FLL teams right from the age of 8, and this got me interested in joining FTC. I hope robotics will teach me how to code, and will help me find a STEM related career I am interested in. Outside of robotics, I enjoy reading, playing the violin and the piano, and swimming. I’ve been swimming since the age of 7, and used to be on the swim team when I lived in Iowa. I would like to have a career related to STEM. I am interested in being a physician, or an engineer, but I’m not quite sure which one yet.

William.PNG
WILLIAM

I am William and I am currently 13 and in 7th grade in Edgewood Jr/Sr high,I have always been interested in technology because my dad worked at UCF and was on the computer a lot so I was always interested in computer’s and as I got older.I started building computers with my dad and I have been in coding before but it is not my strong suit because I did well in scratch but that was block coding.I did code ninja during the summer of 2020-2021 and i learned a little java script but not a lot.I have always had a big family and it can get very annoying at times but when it does I like to go on the computer and relax and play something or build something on scratch. My family is made up of my dog, parents, and my sister(twin) and my older sister, and my two younger brothers(also twins).

Xander.PNG
XANDER

My name is Xander and I am 15 years old. I attend Edgewood Jr. Sr. High and I am in the 9th grade. Something personal about me is that I have been playing guitar for 5 years. I joined the robotics team because I have always had an interest in STEM and robotics in general. What I do for the team is help with the mechanical aspect of the robot and I am the secondary manipulator for the drive team. So far, I’ve discovered that engineering a machine isn’t exactly what it seems at first glance. What I thought was going to be easy was hard, and what I thought was going to be hard was… hard. I am part of the Children’s Hunger Project and the National Junior’s Honor Society at school. Over the summer I volunteer for a summer camp called Summer Blast. In the future, I hope to go into aerospace engineering, or maybe something more general, like computer science.
